FMC Tanks Inc supplies the Eco-Guard Below Grade Vaulted Containment System (BGVCS) as a unique solution to problems associated with conventional "underground" tank products and installations. Available in tank capacities ranging from 500 to 20,000 gallons, this below grade tank containment system is categorized as an aboveground tank sytem (AST) by both the EPA and NFPA. Consequently, this underground (below-grade) tank installation method provides significant added value and unsurpassed liquid containment assurity. The Eco-Guard Below Grade Vaulted Containment System (BGVCS) allows for personnel access, local and remote visual inspection (via camera), and air circulation and conditioning.

The result… absolute and guaranteed underground petroleum/chemical containment!

Liability concerns are eliminated...

Now, tank owners, financial institutions, insurance carriers and regulatory officials can visually verify that subsurface soils and underground water supplies are not and have not been affected at any time during the anticipated service life of the tank and containment system.

This unique tank and containment system utilizes a metal or composite tank positioned in a reinforced underground concrete box or "vault" positioned either underground or at-grade. The lid of the concrete vault includes an HS-20 Bridge Rating, which certifies that the concrete lid has been engineered and tested to support the weight of a fully loaded tractor trailer. The interior surface of the concrete vault is lined with an impervious, chemically inert material that contains any petroleum or chemical effluent which is leaking or has migrated from the primary metal or composite tank structure used to store the fluid. This impervious lining provides secondary containment and protection even in the unlikely event of a cracking concrete vault. The special membrane lining has 400% elongation and has been third party tested to confirm its ability to completely contain fluid migration and hydrostatic ground water pressure inherent in many coastal communities. Unlike existing "underground" tank installations that compact soil directly against the primary tank, a "below grade vaulted tank system" can be entered and/or visually inspected to absolutely verify tank integrity, performance and structural condition at any time during its intended service life. Additionally, the concrete box and room can be easily accessed for repair or replacement of the primary tank by simply removing the "at grade" vault lid.

Excavation is not required to repair, replace or upgrade the existing primary tank!

If you are considering a conventional underground tank installation and have space and/or real estate considerations, we urge you to consider the benefits offered with the Eco-Guard Below Grade Concrete Vault Containment System!!

** Utilization of this system provides the only "underground" tank product and containment system that can be 100% visually inspected to verify tank integrity and the absence or presence of fluids that have migrated from the primary tank structure!!
